Records of Kappa Gamma Psi, 1916-1968.

This collection consists of the records and photographs of the Alpha Chapter of Kappa Gamma Psi. Minutes of the 1926 convention and national body meetings are included. Later records contain financial material, information relating to rituals, pledge materials, and by-laws. Also includes several issues of the fraternity's publication, The Gray and Black, spanning the years 1948-1958. The photographs date from 1916 to 1958.

Kappa Gamma Psi, a national, coeducational fraternity promoting the performing arts in American colleges and universities, was founded on December 11th, 1913 at the New England Conservatory of Music as a national music fraternity. The founding chapter became inactive in 1968. By 1976, the sole remaining chapter was the Iota Chapter at Ithaca College. At that time, the Iota Chapter invited female students to join.
